Construction Law Firm Settles Harmon Tower Lawsuit
The construction law firm Robertson & Associates has settled the Harmon Tower lawsuit which is the largest case in Nevada's history.
According to the Robertson & Associates website, the Harmon Hotel was designed by Foster + Partners as a non-gaming boutique hotel, and was to be operated by Andrew Sasson’s The Light Group when it opened. It also states that the original design called for 400 hotel rooms on the lower 48 floors. The upper floors would contain 207 condominiums. They broke ground in 2006, but in June of 2008, inspectors discovered that stirrups and rebar hooks in the link beams on the 15th floor had been torch-cut. The website goes on to say that the investigations revealed that the reinforcing steel placed in the concrete link beams, columns, shear walls, corbels and transfer elements were also defective and not installed per the approved plans and specifications. These are the grounds for the lawsuit.
The jurors have been excused and the case has been settled. The details of the settlement are confidential. The construction defect law firm Robertson and Associates can claim victory in the largest construction lawsuit in Nevada's history.
